Rules of Play

 

The Raffle (the “Raffle”) shall be conducted by the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation (the “EOCF”) pursuant to a Raffle license (the “AGLC Raffle License”) from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (“AGLC”) and in accordance with the Criminal Code of Canada, Alberta Gaming and Liquor Act and Regulations, AGLC Policy, AGLC Raffle Terms and Conditions, and the terms of the Raffle Services Agreement between the Foundation and Win 50 Ltd. (“Win 50”). 

 

General 

  1. This Raffle is a progressive raffle format in which there are 2 components:  
  2. A daily Event Percentage draw where the winner is awarded 20% of the gross sales for the current period; and 
  3. A daily Progressive draw where the winner of the Event draw selects a jersey number from a diminishing selection of jersey numbers. If the jersey number drawn is #97 the Progressive Pool is won. 

     

    In the Raffle, the Foundation will start each daily Event Percentage draw jackpot at $1,000.00, and the prize for the Raffle of the daily Event Percentage draw (the “Daily Prize”) will be 20% of $1,000.00 plus 20% of the gross revenue received from all tickets sold that day.   

     

    30% of the $1,000.00 that the Foundation starts each daily Event Percentage draw jackpot at will go to the Progressive Pool, and the prize for the Raffle of the Progressive Pool draw (the “Progressive Prize”) will be 30% of each $1,000.00 that the Foundation starts each daily Event Percentage draw jackpot with, plus 30% of the gross revenue reveiced from all tickets sold for the Raffle. 

     

    1. The Progressive Pool increases by 30% of gross ticket sales for each daily Event and 30% of the $1,000.00 that the Foundation starts each daily Event Percentage draw jackpot, and the number of jersey numbers to choose from diminishes by 1 each time a jersey number is drawn. 
    2. The licence ends when the jersey #97 is drawn. 
    3. Draw Events will be open to the public, however, ticket purchasers do not have to be present to win. When the ticket purchasers purchase their tickets for the Event Percentage draw that day, ticket purchasers will also select a numbered envelope with a hidden jersey number within the range of numbered envelopes available to be the envelope selected for the jersey number for the Progressive draw.  
    4. All tickets will be sold online. 
    5. Ticket orders will be processed by Win 50, an AGLC-approved vendor. In the event of any discrepancy, the records of Win 50 shall be deemed correct and final. The EOCF is responsible for the conduct and management of the raffle. The liability of the EOCF and Win 50 shall be limited to the purchase price of the ticket. 
    6. By purchasing a ticket in the EOCF Lucky Jersey Raffle the purchaser acknowledges that they have read, understood and agreed to the raffle rules as published. All inquiries regarding the conduct, chance of winning, prizing or procedures of the Raffle are to be made to the EOCF prior to the purchase of a ticket. 
    7. The estimated amount of the Event Percentage Daily Prize and the Lucky Jersey Progressive Pool Progressive Prize will be posted on the EOCF website: www.EdmontonOilers.com/LuckyJersey 
    8. Complaints, concerns or comments should be addressed to the EOCF through the website www.EdmontonOilers.com/LuckyJersey, by email to luckyjersey@edmontonoilers.com, or by phone at 780-414-4625. 

            Eligibility 

            1. Ticket purchasers must be 18 years or older to enter the Raffle. 
            2. All ticket purchasers must be located in Alberta at the time of purchase. 
            3. Employees of Win 50, EOCF including its Board of Directors and Officers, Edmonton Oilers Hockey Corp., Oilers Entertainment Group Canada Corp., Oilers Entertainment Group Services Ltd. and members of their immediate family (defined as mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband or wife, who reside in the same household) are NOT eligible to participate (defined as purchase tickets or receive prizes) in the raffle.  
            4. In order to qualify for a chance to win the Lucky Jersey Progressive Pool, customers must purchase a ticket for the current daily Event Percentage draw for the raffle event. 

                Ticket Sales 

                1. Tickets must be purchased in the Province of Alberta. 
                2. Tickets may be purchased online at www.EdmontonOilers.com/LuckyJersey  
                3. Ticket sales will begin at 2:00 PM MT on March 21, 2024 and will end on the date that the Progressive Pool is won. 
                4. Tickets will be available beginning at 2:00 PM MT each day following the previous daily draw and will cut off every subsequent day at 1:59 PM MT. 
                5. Tickets are available at the following bundle prices: 1 for $5; 10 for $10, 80 for $25, 250 for $50, and 550 for $100. 
                6. There are 619,000,000 raffle ticket numbers available on the AGLC Raffle License. 
                7. All tickets will be delivered by email directly from luckyjersey@edmontonoilers.com. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure they receive their ticket(s); however, purchasers do not need their tickets in hand to be included in the draws. 
                8. Ticket purchasers are required to enter their email address correctly with no errors when purchasing to ensure they receive their ticket(s) and should check their spam and junk mail folders if they have not received their ticket(s). Purchasers may contact luckyjersey@edmontonoilers.com to resolve any issues with receipt of tickets. 
                9. Each purchaser of tickets for each daily Raffle draw will qualify for one chance to win the Lucky Jersey Progressive Pool per raffle ticket number purchased for the current period.  
                10. All ticket sales are final. There will be no refunds issued to anyone for any reason. All tickets purchased and the raffle ticket numbers of those respective tickets are entered into the draw cannot be refunded, including if a purchaser made an error in selecting the number of tickets they desired to purchase or entered any personal information incorrectly. 

                          How do Subscriptions Work? 

                          When you purchase your tickets you will have the chance to subscribe for automatic purchases for future daily draws for the Raffle.  

                          To subscribe to purchase tickets, proceed through the checkout process. Before you proceed to provide payment details, you will be given the option to subscribe to future daily draws for the Raffle. Select the price point you wish to subscribe to, the quantity you wish to purchase each draw, and continue to purchase your tickets. You will be subscribed for future daily draws for the Raffle using the payment method selected for your purchase. 

                          Your subscription purchases will begin with the next daily Event Percentage draw for the Raffle. 

                          Your subscription will end at the end of the Raffle. 

                          You can cancel your subscription at any time. Simply go into your account and unsubscribe. You can access or create your account at any time on the website by clicking on the Subscription Account link on the top of the web page. 

                          You can also unsubscribe by sending us an email containing the receipt of your ticket purchases. Make sure you send it from the email address you used to subscribe. 

                          If your credit card is declined, your raffle ticket purchase will not be processed, and you will be automatically unsubscribed from your raffle subscription. To re-subscribe, you will need to go through the subscription process once again and provide your updated credit card details. 

                          Your credit card on file will only be charged when the daily Event Percentage draw for the Raffle opens. You will be charged once on the day that the Event Percentage draw opens. Should you wish to purchase additional tickets, you can do so through the checkout process and make another purchase. 

                          You will have the option to pick the price point you wish to subscribe to, the quantity you wish to purchase, as well as the amount of different price points you wish to purchase. 

                           

                          How do subscriptions work for envelope selection for following draws?  Same envelope? What if that envelope is selected but is not a winner, what happens to customer selection for following draws? 

                          The user will be assigned the initial envelope selected during the first purchase for the duration of the subscription. If the user's envelope is selected during the draw process, they are automatically assigned the next highest envelope remaining and sent an email with the new envelope selection. This email will be a Shipping Confirmation with new verbiage identifiying a new envelope selection has been assigned to their subscription. 

                          Do people need an account for subscriptions (no express checkout)? 

                          An account is required for subscription management (i.e. cancelling subscription). The account is created after the subscription is created, the user does not create an account to initiate the subscription. All payment methods will be available.  

                           

                          Daily Percentage Raffle Draw 

                          1. Ticket sales will conclude every day at 1:59 PM MT. 
                          2. The first Event Percentage draw will be held on March 22, 2024, and will continue at approximately the same time each subsequent day until the Progressive Pool is won. 
                          3. All Raffle draws will take place at 300-10214 104 Ave NW in Edmonton, Alberta at approximately 2:00 PM MT.  
                          4. Ticket holders do not have to be present at the draw in order to win or claim their prize. 
                          5. The winning raffle ticket number will be selected via Random Number Generation. The winning number will be announced and displayed on the EOCF website www.EdmontonOilers.com/LuckyJersey 
                          6. At least 2 executive members of the EOCF (or their delegates) will be present to witness each draw. Contact information (name and phone number) of both draw witnesses will be documented and maintained in the raffle records. The draw will be videotaped and the recording will be maintained in the raffle records. 

                                Prizes and Notification 

                                1. The winner of the Event Percentage draw Daily Prize will be awarded 20% of $1,000.00 started by the Foundation that day plus 20% of the gross revenue received from all tickets sold that day. 
                                2. The Event Percentage raffle winner is also qualified to participate in the current daily Progressive draw as described in the following section: Progressive Draw Procedure. 
                                3. The holder of the winning ticket from the Event Percentage draw will be notified by email or telephone, if provided, immediately following the draw. 
                                4. The winner of the Event Percentage draw will be awarded 30% of each $1,000.00 that the Foundation starts each daily Event Percentage draw jackpot with, plus 30% of the gross revenue revieced from all tickets sold for the Raffle. 
                                5. The winner of the Progressive Draw will be notified by email or telephone, if provided. 
                                6. The winning ticket number of each daily Percentage Raffle event and the jersey number selected in each Progressive Draw will be posted on the www.EdmontonOilers.com/LuckyJersey website immediately following the draw. 

                                       

                                      Progressive Draw Procedure 

                                      Jersey Number Preparation 

                                      1. Provide 30 jersey numbers, printing each jersey number on a piece of paper. 
                                      2. Shuffle the papers face down to get a good mixture. 
                                      3. Without revealing any jersey number faces, insert each paper in an opaque coin envelope. 
                                      4. Seal each envelope and have the EOCF initial each flap. 
                                      5. Shuffle envelopes. 
                                      6. Number each envelope for inventory control only, small number on large flap. 
                                      7. This is the set of envelopes to be used for all events in the raffle. 

                                            Envelope Custody 

                                            1. Secure available envelopes and previously drawn jersey number papers in locked box between draws. 
                                            2. The EOCF will hold a key to locked box. 
                                            3. The EOCF will maintain custody of locked box with envelopes and drawn jersey number papers. 

                                              Event Percentage Draw Winner 

                                              1. The EOCF will initiate the Progressive Draw after the Event Percentage draw is complete using the numbered envelope selected for the jersey number for the Progressive draw that the Event Percentage Draw winner selected when they purchased their winning ticket for the Event Percentage draw that day.  

                                              Progressive Prize Draw 

                                              1. The available envelopes will be counted out to confirm match to expected number. 
                                              2. The available envelopes will be shuffled. 
                                              3. The EOCF will state the envelope number the Event Percentage Draw winner selected when they purchased their winning ticket for the Event Percentage draw that day. 
                                              4. Envelopes will be counted as they are dealt by the EOCF until the number chosen in step 3 is reached. 
                                              5. The jersey number will be removed from the envelope selected in step 4 and revealed to the public. 

                                                  (a) If the jersey number is #97, the Progressive Prize is awarded to the Event Percentage Draw winner and the raffle is closed. 

                                                  (b) If the jersey number selected is not #97: 

                                                  (i) the Event Percentage Draw winner is a non-winner of the Progressive Draw 

                                                  (ii) the Progressive Prize is rolled over to the next event. 

                                                  (c) The selected jersey number is removed from the available inventory. 

                                                  1. The selected jersey number along with a number of available envelopes for the next event is published on the website.

                                                   
                                                  Claiming and Payment of Prizes 

                                                  1. The winner of the Event Percentage Raffle Daily Prize and, if applicable, the Progressive Pool Progressive Prize will contact the EOCF as directed through the www.EdmontonOilers.com/LuckyJersey website or luckyjersey@edmontonoilers.com. 
                                                  2. When a winning ticket is presented, the winner must show 1 piece of government-issued identification proving their age to be over 18 and complete a Claim Form. 
                                                  3. All prizes will be paid by cheque. 
                                                  4. The holder of the ticket containing the winning raffle ticket number for the Event Percentage Raffle will have until 4:00 PM MST 4 business days from the time of the announcement of the winning Event Percentage raffle ticket number for the Raffle to present the ticket containing the winning raffle ticket number to the EOCF. If the winner has not come forward within 2 business days from the time of the announcement of the winning raff raffle ticket number for the Event Percentage Raffle, the EOCF will use the email and/or phone number if provided by the ticket purchaser to try to contact them. 
                                                  5. If more than 1 name is written on the ticket, the Prize will be awarded to only 1 of the individuals named on the ticket, and the EOCF, Win 50 and AGLC are not responsible for any disputes among the individuals whose names are on the ticket. 

                                                      Unclaimed Prizes 

                                                      1. All Prizes not claimed on or before the Prize Claim Expiry Date (4:00 PM MST, 4 business days from the time of the announcement of the winning raffle ticket number for the Raffle), will be donated to a charitable beneficiary approved by AGLC. 

                                                      Privacy 

                                                      1. The winner’s name, image, city or town of residence and statements will be publicized on the list of prize winners located at www.EdmontonOilers.com/LuckyJersey and will be used for the purposes of advertising, publicity and promotion in any matter or media as the EOCF may determine, without further compensation to the winner other than the prize awarded. 
                                                      2. The EOCF respects the privacy of its raffle supporters. We do not sell, rent or trade in our supporter lists. The information we collect is used to process raffle ticket purchases, keep our supporters informed about the activities of the EOCF and ask for their continued support of charitable organizations in Alberta. 
                                                      3. If at any time a supporter wishes to be excluded from such contacts, they may do so by contacting us through the website www.EdmontonOilers.com/LuckyJersey or using the unsubscribe option on the emails they may receive or contacting Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, 300, 10214 – 104 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T5J 0H6, (780) 414-4625 or luckyjersey@edmontonoilers.com. 

                                                        Cancellation 

                                                        The EOCF may rescind, cancel, amend or revoke the Raffle, subject to the prior approval of AGLC. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the EOCF reserves the right to cancel or modify the Raffle and/or these Official Rules, in whole or in part and without notice, if the EOCF determines that fraud or technical or other failures, including power failures, have threatened or destroyed the integrity of the Raffle. 

                                                         

                                                        Award of Progressive Pool upon Cancellation 

                                                        If the Raffle is terminated by the EOCF for any reason, the last Event Percentage draw winner will be deemed to have won the Progressive Pool. 

                                                         

                                                        Release of Liability  

                                                        By entering into the Raffle, all ticket purchasers agree to: (a) be bound by these Raffle Rules; and (b) release Win 50, the EOCF including its Board of Directors and Officers, Edmonton Oilers Hockey Corp., Oilers Entertainment Group Canada Corp., Oilers Entertainment Group Services Ltd., the National Hockey League, Canadian Bank Note and any event promoter and any presenting partner of the Raffles and each of their respective partners, subsidiaries and affiliates, together with the owners, employees, officers, directors, sponsors and agents of any of the foregoing (collectively, "Released Parties") from and against any and all claims, demands, injuries, losses and liabilities whatsoever arising out of the Raffle. The EOCF will administer the Raffle in good faith and in the best interests of the charitable beneficiaries but shall not have any liability in connection with any decisions made in connection with the Raffle. Released Parties: (i) make no warranty, guaranty or representation of any kind concerning any prize (or any portion thereof); and (ii) disclaim any implied warranty. The EOCF’s failure to enforce any term of these Raffle Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
